Portfolio

Welcome to my portfolio. Here you’ll find a selection of my work. Explore my projects to learn more about what I do.

They think that they know but they don't know

They think that they see but they don't see

They think that they are right but they're not right

They think that they are educated but they're not educated

They try to convince you

They are sure that you need convincing

God love them

They do not know what they do

We follow each other

Into bars

Into churches

Into rivers

We follow each other

Looking for answers

Trying to escape

Subconsciously

We follow each other

Then we blame

We say it’s someone else's fault

We lost our way

When really it's very plain

We paddle our own canoes

Róisín Dubh Fireplace

I sat here in 1999 by this same fireplace

High on big ideas and low on sense

I dreamed of great things

I would be a hero

I would prove that I was somebody

I would show them

I showed them

It made no difference

Until I surrendered to the realisation

That I was not alone

I would never stand apart

And I really had nothing to prove

Shame

Cigarettes and alcohol camomile tea

Filter coffee and lesbian carrot cake

You rented a ground floor bedsit in Cork City

You took photos of me at Torc Waterfall

I still have them somewhere

We tried things that were new to me

We weren’t criminals anymore

You weren’t my type

But I liked you

You were good to me

We lost touch

I look for you on Facebook sometimes

I was ashamed of you

I was ashamed of myself

I was lucky to survive that

I might go down to Cork this summer

You had an English accent

I drank on the shame

I don’t feel ashamed today

Maybe I will go down for the Pride Parade…

Treasure

I found a great treasure buried in a field

I sold everything that belonged to me

I bought that field and the treasure it contained

Then I went out and gave it away

I gave it away

I gave it away

The treasure I found

Deep in the clay

On every street in every town

I gave it away

The treasure I found

They laughed at me

They said what a fool

He’s putting his trust in a two- legged stool

They laughed at me but I never dismayed

I got heaps more back than I gave away

I have no home

I have no kin

The fox has a hole

The lion has a den

I found a great treasure buried in a field

I sold everything and got all that I need
